July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013
The MEA Benefits Trust and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield are pleased to announce the following rate changes effective July 1, 2012:
• MEA Standard Plan: 4% change
• MEA Choice Plus: 4% change
• MEA Group Companion Plan: 4% change
The MEA Benefits Trust and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield work closely to deliver high-quality benefits as cost effectively as possible. This year, the MEABT is offering two lower-cost options, which are briefly summarized below. Adoption of these plans is subject to collective bargaining. MEABT members should feel confident that they have retained a very high level of benefits at very competitive prices.
The monthly rates for the 7/1/2012 – 6/30/2013 plan year are as follows:

*Medicare eligible retirees will continue to be offered a Group Companion Plan program that includes the same prescription drug benefit offered to active employees.
There are no Benefit Changes for the 2012-2013 benefit year.
