Retiring

Planning to retire, you will need to fill out a Transfer from Active to Retirment Status Form, then submit it to the Central office for your district. Turning 65, if you are retired then you will want to apply for Medicare. You will need Medicare A & B, to go with your retirement plan, Anthem's Medicare Preferred (PPO) with Senior Rx Plus. You will receive a packet of information from Anthem & the MEABT, approximately 2 months prior to your 65th birthday month. You will need to complete the application for the Medicare Advantage plan and mail to Anthem. If you wish to continue with your Blue View Vision coverage, you will need to complete the BVV application included in the packet. Blue View Vision will be a bill from Anthem set up on a quarterly basis, this will not be deducted from your MePERS check.
